Principles in Small Animal Fracture Management

Wednesday, September 11, 2019 to Saturday, September 14, 2019
Location:
Glendale, AZ

The Principles in Small Animal Fracture Management course is designed to provide participants with a basic, fundamental knowledge of bone healing and the favorable impact that internal fixation of fractures can have on it. Lectures and hands-on laboratory sessions will focus on and reinforce the scientific principles of fracture repair as well as techniques critical to a successful surgical outcome (soft tissue handling, bone grafting).  Problems of non-unions, infections and technical errors are also covered and discussed.  Case-based small group discussions / firesides will supplement the lectures and focus further on the importance of pre-operative planning as a critical part of the clinical decision-making process in small animal surgery.  Care of the total patient is emphasized from pre-operative care through anesthetic management and post-operative recovery and care.  Learn More...
