ACVS continues to receive concerns from Diplomates regarding the proposed American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) orthopedic surgery fellowship. ACVS has been monitoring this situation for the past year and expressed concerns to ABVP and the American Board of Veterinary Specialties. At the recent 2024 Surgery Summit, Dr. Jan Hawkins, then ACVS President, encouraged Diplomates to contact AVMA directly. Based on new information, ACVS is developing a letter that Diplomates can co-sign. Additional information on this process will be emailed to Diplomates in January 2025.
