All eligible individuals can submit credentials applications and register for the Phase II examination. Refer to the links below for additional information and note that there are separate deadlines and fees for the credentials application and for examination registration.
Credentials Application
Credentials applications can now be submitted through CERT. Detailed instructions about application requirements is available online in Credentials Application Guidelines. The deadline to submit the credentials application is Tuesday, August 1. An application fee of $1,200 must be paid when submitting the application.
Examination Registration
The 2024 Phase II Surgical Competency Examination will be held over two days—February 12-13 (Americas and Europe) and February 13-14 (Asia and Oceania). Potential examinees must register now for the examination prior to submission and acceptance of their credentials application by the ACVS Board of Regents.
Phase II examination registration is now open; the deadline is Monday, July 31. An examination fee must be paid at the time of completing registration. The fee is $2,495 for first-time examinees and $1,785 for repeat examinees. The Phase II Surgical Competency Examination Information Pamphlet is available online and contains the examination schedule, all relevant policies, and the reading lists.
To register for Phase II, log in to CERT, select Application, select Phase II Surgical Competency Examination, and click Register for Exam. Registration will allow candidates to schedule an examination appointment with Pearson VUE in mid-August, while waiting to see if credentials are accepted.
Important Dates:
- July 31: Phase II examination registration deadline. Registration and fee are required.
- August 1: Credentials application deadline. Registration and fee are required.
- August 21: Candidates can begin scheduling appointments with Pearson VUE.
- No later than October 1: Credentials application results notifications sent*
- February 12–13, 2024: Phase II examination for candidates in the Americas and Europe
- February 13–14, 2024: Phase II examination for candidates in Asia and Oceania
