Information session for first-year residents set for August 28

The ACVS certification team is hosting an information session for first-year residents on Wednesday, August 28, 6:30-7:30 pm (ET).

During the information session, ACVS will discuss the certification process and the online certification tracking system (CERT), as well as introduce the ACVS certification team.

Two recently board-certified ACVS Diplomates, Haileigh Avellar, DVM, MS, DACVS (Large Animal) and Daniel McCarthy, DVM, DACVS (Small Animal), will join the session to share what residents can expect during their first year and beyond.

Residents will receive useful tips and lifehacks, become familiar with available resources, and learn the importance of staying on top of communication from ACVS. Dr. McCarthy will also provide guidance as a member of the Resident Credentialing Committee on some basic tips for residents to keep in mind when completing their logs.

Although the session will focus on getting started as a resident, any resident may register. ACVS will record the session, and the recording will be made available to all residents.

First-year residents are encouraged to register using the link that Jeff Melia, ACVS resident training and technology manager, sent on August 21. Contact Jeff, jmelia@acvs.org, with any questions.
