Liz Santschi is a gifted surgeon and an even more gifted teacher. As a junior faculty member, I knew that she always had my back, and I will always be appreciative of her support and friendship. Her residents have been lucky to have someone who shows them the thought process preparing for complex surgeries, models integrity and compassion, and makes them feel like they have a home during their 3 years of residency.
