Outstanding Surgery Residents’ Awards

The annual Outstanding Surgery Residents’ Awards competition at the ACVS Surgery Summit encourages the development of clinically important research and the dissemination of the results of these investigations, particularly those conducted by surgery residents.

Residents are eligible for awards for presentations at the Residents’ Forums and Scientific Poster Presentation. In addition, ACVS and ECVS surgery residents are presented with awards for publication in Veterinary Surgery.

One AO Awards

AO VET North America presents two One AO Awards. The winning abstracts are chosen based on their cross-disciplinary orthopedic relevance and embodiment of the one medicine spirit of AO North America, a unique organization that brings together physicians and veterinary experts in the fields of trauma, craniomaxillofacial, spinal, and veterinary orthopedic surgery. A winner from the best ACVS resident large animal and small animal presentations at the Residents’ Forum will be invited to present at the European College of Veterinary Surgeons meeting. Winners in the clinical and research categories alternate each year. This year’s category is clinical.
