The Mark W. Allam Lecture, presented at the annual ACVS Surgery Summit, is named for Mark Whittier Allam, Dean Emeritus of the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, and co-founder of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
Dr. Allam was an avid proponent of “one medicine,” the concept that the similarities between human and animal medicine are great and that the two fields can benefit considerably from the discoveries made in each.
