Job Analysis Survey fielded with ACVS Diplomate assistance

The ACVS Job Analysis Survey was sent to all Diplomates in early December. This survey would not be possible without the participation of multiple ACVS Diplomate volunteers.

The survey evaluates the knowledge and skills required to perform the job of a board-certified veterinary surgeon. Survey data will be used to evaluate ACVS resident training requirements, the Phase I Surgical Knowledge Examination, and the Phase II Surgical Competency Examination.

Job Analysis Committee members reviewed and updated the job task and knowledge statements, Phase II examination categories, and the survey instrument. Additional Diplomates participated in reviews of the updated statements and survey drafts. The Job Analysis Committee will also evaluate the aggregate data from the survey and work with the Examination Committee to develop updated blueprints for the Phase I and Phase II examinations.

Thank you to the ACVS Diplomates involved in the process!
