Forty-six percent of ACVS Diplomates participated in the recent member needs assessment, a remarkably high response rate according to the Institute for Association and Nonprofit Research, the research firm that conducted the assessment survey on behalf of ACVS.
The exceptional response demonstrates the interest ACVS Diplomates have in the future of the College.
ACVS is pleased to share high-level demographic findings from the survey and is committed to presenting additional findings and frequent updates as it continues to work with Diplomates to put the results into action. The College will keep Diplomates informed via emails, the Diplomate Hub on the website, and Cut to the Point.
Of the respondents
- 62% are in private practice.
- Small animal is the primary focus (70%).
- Gender is evenly balanced between women (48%) and men (52%).
- The median age is 47.
- Those younger skew female (51% are under 45).
- Those older skew male (71% are 45 and over).
- 90% are White.
- 11% identify as belonging to an underrepresented population.
